- $20 per hour minimum starting wage for non-tipped position

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To constantly monitor and evaluate Deer Valley Resort’s ski terrain with an emphasis on safety. To respond to guests medical needs in a professional manner. To be available for other on mountain emergencies i.e. avalanches, lift evacuation etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Administer first aid in a professional and timely manner
- Perform lift evacuations as needed
- Perform skier safety education including speed control
- Enforcing the responsibility code
- Conducting snow surveys and snow stability tests
- Use of explosives in snow stability tests
- Mountain set up, tear down and maintenance
- Placement and maintenance of mountain signs, rope lines and padding
- Placement and maintenance of snow fences
- Maintain ski runs by side slipping and/or shoveling
- Crowd control at lift mazes, day lodges and race venues
- Pick up trash on the mountain
- Retrieve items dropped from the lift
- Assist guests looking for lost equipment
- Maintain clean Ski Patrol workspaces including emptying trash, vacuuming and cleaning windows
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current OEC or EMT certification
- Current CPR certification
- Advanced skiing ability – able to transport a guest in a toboggan down any Deer Valley area in any snow condition
- Ability to work effectively with other Ski Patrollers and all other Deer Valley Resort employees
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude toward Deer Valley and its core values
- Good physical conditioning with ability to consistently lift 50lbs.
- Ability to write legibly and to professionally complete all Ski Patrol forms
- Ability to learn basic knowledge of snow physics and explosives
- Ability to operate a snowmobile
LEVEL I:
- First year / no experience, or limited experience
- CPR + OEC certified
- Completed OEC Refresher
- Completes training check-off sheet
- Advanced skiing ability
- Attends CME hours 2+
- Positive attitude, supportive of company policies and procedures
