Job Overview
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Oversee lodging security team. Oversee and assist Resort lodging properties in operations and security matters. Ensure that multiple walks of each property are performed nightly looking for unlocked doors/windows, as well as potential maintenance issues and report those to the property managers. Supervise accurate Inter Company mail pickup and delivery. Will be required to transport cash and/or receipts. Ensure buildings are opened and closed as business dictates. To patrol properties managed by Deer Valley Resort as well as provide after-hours guest service.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Supervisory and strong interpersonal skills required
- Strong security/mechanical background helpful
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- No criminal record
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, late evenings and/or early mornings (graveyard shift); must be flexible as business demands change
- Ability to react to unusual circumstances appropriately and work independently
- Basic computer skills required
- Night shifts required
- Basic computer skills necessary for emailing and generating reports
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in English
- Dependability, excellent customer service skills, common sense, follow-through, self-starter, confidentiality and integrity required
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of lodging security staff at Deer Valley and ensure utilization of resources and staff
- Ensure accurate pickup and delivery of intercompany mail
- Ensure Deer Valley lodging properties are patrolled and call police in case of disorderly conduct and/or suspicious activities
- Ensure windows and doors are locked in unoccupied spaces
- Ensure lodging security staff assists guests as needed
- Ensure lodging security staff are able to safely work from heights, i.e. ladders needed to access light fixtures
- Ensure lodging security staff is able to activate or disable all alarm systems as needed (Fire, burglar, etc…)
- Ensure lodging security staff is able to locate all main electrical switches, water valves, drain valves, gas valves, automatic fire extinguishers, manual fire extinguishers, alarm devices, entrances/exits in the event of an emergency of any type
- Ensure lodging security staff operates equipment safely and follows company policy regarding vehicle use and procedure
- Ensure lodging security staff maintains a log for each shift
- Help ensure guest satisfaction
- Develop and implement security training programs
- Ensure employee adherence to established policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Patrol properties and associations managed by Deer Valley Resort looking for burnt out lights, opened doors, water leaks, and any unauthorized or suspicious vehicles or persons
- No confrontations with suspicious people are required, yet reporting these issues to the Park City Police Department is required
- Assist guests with any problems related to the facilities including access, safety, and comfort
- Provide guest service after-hours including check-in, courier duties, inspections of condos for material condition, and responding to alarms
Uniform Requirements:
Shirt and pants provided. Cold weather outer wear provided. Personal clothing: boots, goggles, insulated underwear, etc. provided by employee.
Additional Information:
The resort operates seven days a week. Work schedules will include weekends, on call, holidays, and night shifts. Employee must be willing to work various shifts.
