Associates are chosen for this position because of their ability to build and maintain excellent rapport with our guests with a courteous manner while professionally selling and serving food and beverages. Associates in this position must have the passion and vision to be fully engaged in creating a safe and positive work environment for all associates and to not just meet, but exceed guest expectations in an ever-changing environment.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Greet and seat guests, following established standards for method and timing. Create and utilize wait lists as needed, following established standards for method and timing.
· Answer telephone following established standards for method and timing.
· Take guest dining reservations correctly and completely according to established policies and procedures.
· Monitors reservations weekly. Checks for high volumes, large parties, special event reservations and special event days. Obtain list of arrivals with meal packages to ensure guests have proper reservations/menus notations. Alerts management of potential issues.
· Ensure the security of guest and associate personal information.
· Be aware of the “service cycle” Steps of Service for each meal period and alert supervisor or manager with issues.
· Handle any guest inquiries and complaints professionally with quick resolution making the best decision possible with the effort, knowledge, and experience necessary within the policies of the hotel and restaurant, always fulfilling and striving to achieve 100% guest satisfaction.
· Be an alert listener and attentive to detail. Be pleasant, have a customer-focused attitude and exhibit an outgoing personality.
· Communicate clearly with explicit detail of all guest special requests, paying close attention to any food allergies which also need to be communicated to the manager on duty and the sous chef or executive chef for the meal period.
· Ensure cleanliness of the reception area, including, but not limited to furniture, equipment, menus, and storage, before, during and after shift. Areas should be kept in top conditions at all times.
· Upon exiting, thank the guest and invite them to return.
· Know, maintain and ensure compliance of all local liquor laws and sanitation and safety regulations. Know and maintain safety and sanitation standards daily to ensure safe environment for staff and guests.
· Clean, clear and reset tables as needed.
· Run food with servers as needed.
· Complete opening and closing side work as assigned.
· Flexibility in available to work according to business needs, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
REQUIRED SKILL SET IDEAL SKILL SET
- Read, write and speak fluent English.
- Team Player.
- Carrying/lifting items up to 35 lbs.
- Bending/stooping frequently.
- Stand 100% of the time up to 10 hours a day.
- Endure limited exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to achieve Alcohol Awareness Certification and Safe Food Handler Certification.
- Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks. Must have excellent communication skills.
- Good Computer Skills.
- Proven record of stable employment.
- Ability to memorize guest orders
- Service experience.
- Good working knowledge of Open Table.

Point of Sale (POS) System, Coffee Machine, Espresso/cappuccino machine, bread ovens, cleaning chemicals, vacuum cleaner, sharp knives for cutting fruit, bread, etc., wine openers, reservations computer, telephone
UNIFORM STANDARDS
Business casual, clean and pressed. Polished slip resistant shoes in good repair. Hosiery required for females when legs are visible. Adhere to appearance standards for visible tattoos, piercing, watches, and other jewelry. Demonstrate proper hygiene. All jobs require employees to following grooming and appearance standards as they are addressed in the Associate Handbook.
