Job Overview
The Snowbird Group Sales Team is seeking an exceptional and dynamic National Sales Manager/Leisure Sales Manager to book group lodging and conference business in accordance with established sales goals. This individual will be responsible for representing Snowbird, developing relationships with industry professionals, and securing contracts for group sales related business. This individual will be responsible for a conference sales territory while also working in the leisure tour and travel market.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Represent Snowbird, one of the most iconic mountain destinations, at key identified industry events as well as during business travels.
- Develop relationships with key decision-making contacts.
- Conduct site tours showcasing Snowbird in a unique and inviting fashion.
- Continually understand and communicate accurately Snowbird products, services and specifications based on customers’ needs.
- Complete the required amount of direct sales contact as assigned by the department head in a given geographical market. i.e., phone calls, personal visits and hospitality function representation, this will be outlined upon hire.
- Respond to incoming sales leads in an expedited fashion to gain leverage over competition.
- Follow all departmental procedures and timelines for identified tools and processes (Outlook, Group Sales Calendar, Amadeus, SMS Host, etc)
- Maintain proper, timely and accurate written documentation of all direct sales contact and client interactions with in appropriate systems.
- Complete accurate and timely expense reports documenting transactions and providing necessary receipts as required by department head.
- Occasional extended business travel within/outside USA.
- Demonstrate the ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of Snowbird.
- Demonstrate the ability to network effectively and generate business from said network.
- Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals, key business decision makers and third-party resources in a professional manner.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- College degree in related field preferred. Additional related work experience may be substituted for education.
- 2-4 years of hospitality or sales related work experience with demonstrated competence.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Driver License w/ clean MVR (driving record).
- Proficient computer skills, strong with Microsoft office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and proven success with internet / search engines / lead database software for prospecting and developing new business.
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Amadeus/Salesforce, is desirable.
- Strong communication skills are important, both written and verbal. Strong sense of the meetings & hospitality industry and a passion for working with people.
- Good problem-solving skills, knowledge in contract negotiation and experience in cold calling, networking and building relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, calendar management, budget and expenses management required.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with being self-motivated and driven are necessary to be successful in this role.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Specific Shift: Normal weekday business hours with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays based on customer demand and travel needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. General office conditions prevail.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
