Job Overview

Assist and manage the bakery operations, including prep, dough production, assembling and baking product, cleaning and restocking the business unit. Ensuring a branded and consistent product while maximizing profitability and creating an inspiring hospitality experience for the guest.

Responsibilities

• Work with the bakery manager to meet production expectations based off occupancy, banquet event orders, and needs of the other outlets
• Produce and execute desserts, breads, ready to eat, and any food items necessary for the function of the outlet
• Lead by example in all areas of baking and production, setting the pace and tone with a sense of urgency and motivating the team
• Assist with training new employees
• Exercise quality control so all raw and baked goods adhere to quality and food safety standards
• Monitor bakery inventory frequently to ensure pastries are in stock, making more when necessary and reducing waste
• Assist in bakery menu development as directed by the Executive Chef
• Uphold standards, procedures and controls
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and store all food items, paper goods or cleaning supplies
• Lead the staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the outlet and storage areas
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef
Qualifications
• Request minimum of 2 years of recent bakery experience in a hotel or resort setting
• Skilled in modern European desserts, pastries and breads preferred
• High school diploma/GED required
• Excellent communication skills
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Proven self-starter (confident) and driven
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist and reach for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Utah Food Handler Permit Required
• Knowledgeable and proficient in food and beverage laws/regulations for the State of Utah

The Hotel functions seven days a week and 24-hours a day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize, at times, it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift so support business demands.
