Executive Summary
We are seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our well-established hotel. The GM will be responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring guest satisfaction, and managing a high-performing team. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a hands-on approach to achieving goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in hotel management, preferably at branded properties.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Oversee hotel financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash, and banking procedures.
- Review financial reports, sales, and performance data to identify opportunities for cost control and revenue enhancement.
- Manage pricing. Collaborate with brand and OTAs for pricing strategies and revenue management.
- Assist with contract management, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with brand standards.
- Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management.
Operational Oversight:
- Expected to be hands-on and on-site in a guest-facing role, taking on a full shift daily at the front desk for the majority of the week.
- Lead and manage all hotel departments, ensuring efficient operations across front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and guest services.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, guest service, and facility condition.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience on all platforms.
- Ensure adherence to brand standards in all hotel operations and employee performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms with head housekeeper, public areas, and hotel facilities to maintain cleanliness and quality.
- Oversee safety and security training programs for staff.
Personnel Management:
- Manage staffing levels, recruit, hire, train, and mentor team members in line with brand standards.
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to employees to foster continuous improvement and professional development.
- Schedule and manage personnel to ensure appropriate coverage during busy periods and slow seasons while adhering to labor efficiency, i.e. controlling the revenue to labor ratio within management guidelines.
- Ensure employee satisfaction and retention through effective communication and leadership.
Inventory and Purchasing Management:
- Oversee inventory levels for supplies and equipment, ensuring quality and cost control.
- Monitor departmental budgets and approve purchases within established financial limits.
Guest Experience Management:
- Actively manage guest feedback, addressing complaints or concerns through various channels (online, in-person, etc.).
- Promote and manage guest loyalty programs, ensuring compliance with brand requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel management or related roles (preferably with branded hotels).
- Strong understanding of financial management, revenue generation, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications, and other hospitality software.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Additional Information
- Salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
