DIRECTOR OF SALES
Sunridge Hotel Group is seeking a high-performing Director of Sales for our Residence Inn by Marriott property located at 1290 S University Ave, Provo, UT . Proper candidates will be innovative, motivated & self-driven with a proven sales background in the hospitality industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Generate revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations
- Create a sales strategy to generate new business,and penetrate/saturate current accounts.
- Ensure business booked is within the hotel’s goals. Close the best business for the property based on market conditions and needs dates.
- Drive customer loyalty through understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that best meet their needs.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Responsible for maintaining a monthly sales goal through a mixture of Proactive Sales Calls, Maintenance Calls, Email Prospecting, Cold Calls and Teleprospecting Calls
- Record sales efforts in CRM database: achieve monthly sales goal, managing sales funnel opportunities, setting trace/follow up systems to actively manage accounts, and tracking quarterly account action plans
- Work directly with Corporate Director of Sales and Revenue Manager on pricing, strategy, and execution of groups that have more than 10 sleeping rooms a night
- Work directly with the Corporate Director of Sales and Revenue Manager on pricing strategy and negotiation for corporate business rates.
- Plan and execute effective Sales Blitz and/or Customer Events.
- Contact prospective companies for groups and corporate business in the market
- Follow up on opportunities uncovered by business development
- Understand the overall competitors – strengths and weaknesses, rate structures, sales team structure and deployment, special corporate and group base, room inventory, renovation/room remodel standards, and how to sell against them.
- Generate proposals & formulate rate agreement/group contracts,
- Maintain electronic & hard copy files for groups, meeting and negotiated accounts.
- Collect and input rooming lists, or other reservations & provide front desk with group resumes
- Input group pick-up on a weekly basis and alert groups to pick-up status and upcoming cut-off dates.
- Present sales, revenue & forecasting reports to the management team
- Participate in weekly revenue calls and implement resulting sales strategies as appropriate.
- Review guest ledgers to identify guests whose companies have the potential to receive negotiated rates.
- Schedule the use of meeting space and upsell audio/visual and catering items.
- Maintain the meeting room, including the performance of catering functions, clean-up, set-up and tear-down.
- Work with the operations team to communicate billing instructions, rate breakdowns, commission reports, room blocking information, and group special requests
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders within accounts
SKILLS
- BS degree in business administration, hospitality management and/or experience
- Ability to maneuver through Marriott PMS and reservation systems.
- Familiarity with EventTemple or other comparable CRM system
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years sales experience required: hospitality sales preferred.

Salary
- DOE, + Bonus Incentive
- Salary Range: 50-65K
