Job Overview

Under the direction of the Conference Operations Manager and Assistant Conference Operations Manager, supervises the set up and tear down of the conference areas and conference porter team according to Conference Operations and guest standards. Responsible to lead the team towards the completion of assigned tasks including cleaning and maintenance.

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility

  • Supervises set up and tear down of all events according to Banquet Event Orders and the standards of Conference Operations.
  • Ability to work well and lead a team or group of people in situations which have little routine or structure.
  • Responsible for the correct placement of all tables, chairs, water services, etc. for meetings, meal functions and special events according to the Banquet Event Order, Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Clean and maintain conference areas including storage and staging areas to Conference Operations standards.
  • Responsible for the care and upkeep of all assets belonging to the Snowbird Conference Operations. Repairs all damaged equipment.
  • Supervises team with a positive attitude and leads them in compliance with Snowbird’s Employee Handbook and Standards of Conference Operations.

  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Requires the ability to apply mathematical skills in building function sets and determine use of equipment.
  • Requires some knowledge of conference sets and fundamentals of hospitably service.
  • Requires knowledge of safety procedures and requirement of the hospitality and conference industry.
  • Candidate needs to have ability to operate basic office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc.

Administrative

  • Requires the skills to modify staff and equipment for the event, to satisfy requests of the guests in a manner that fall within the guidelines of Conference Operations.
  • Requires the ability to communicate in writing on complex and ambiguous subjects.
  • Requires skills in working with others in situations that have little routine or structure.
  • Must have the Microsoft Excel experience.

Working Conditions

  • Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.

Mental

  • Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical

  • Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
