Job Overview

The Chief Engineer helps oversee all engineering and maintenance operations within our resort, ensuring all systems and structures are in optimal working condition. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our facilities, and requires a proactive, knowledgeable, and hands-on leader. 

 

Job Specification:

 

Onsite: Black Desert Resort 

Shift & Schedule Availability: Year Round / Full Time 

The budgeted range starts at 70,000 – $85,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors. 

 

Job Responsibilities but not limited: 

 

  • Manage the daily operations of the engineering department, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. 
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with all safety and operational regulations. 
  • Lead, train, and supervise the engineering team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience that meets the high standards of Black Desert Resort. 
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and planning of facility upgrades and maintenance. 
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. 
  • Ensure that all pools and water features meet health and safety standards, maintaining Certified Pool Operator (CPO) compliance. 
  • Respond effectively to all emergency situations and provide timely solutions. 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in the hospitality industry. 
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is required. 
  • Proficient in HVAC systems management and maintenance. 
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and motivate a team. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and ADA requirements. 
  • Experience in budget management and cost control. 
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 

Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $70,000.00/Yr. – $85,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
