Job Overview
Duties of a Breakfast Attendant:
*Observe and ask guests about their needs and levels of satisfaction with the food or service; describe and/or answer questions for guests about menu items, the buffet, daily specials, etc.; talk with guests in order to create a friendly atmosphere and respond to their questions about attractions or other information in the area.
*Stock food and service ware for breakfast buffets according to standard recipes to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
*Clear tables during the complimentary breakfast period.
*Ensure tableware is in good and working condition and report any defects for repair.
*Retrieve and transport dirty tableware to dishwashing area.
*Ensures Coffee Area is stocked with condiments and refreshed consistently -ensures hot beverages are rotated to ensure freshness and heat.
*Keeps adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures proper storage of all food products and portion control, eg., especially high cost items.
*Keeps all refrigeration, storage, and working areas in clean, working condition to comply with health department regulations.
*Organizes and transfers food items into containers as needed, label and date for proper use and identification.
*Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor, such as moving supplies and equipment, deep cleaning, and sanitation.
*Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning product as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
*Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
*Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
*Reports equipment malfunctions promptly to the Executive Housekeeper or Engineering.
*Works assigned shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
*Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment at all times.
*Keeps floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents.
*Understands the emergency procedures for the entire hotelQualifications
Qualifications
*Prior hotel host/hostess or restaurant experience is helpful but not required.
*Food Handlers certification is helpful but not required.
*Must be neat, professional and well-groomed.
*Must posses good organization/time management skills.
*Must be dependable and reliable.
*Must be able to work with little supervisioin in a fast-paced enviornment.
*Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
*Must be in good physical condition as the job requires frequent pushing, pulling, reaching. stooping, handling, and gripping.
*Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds (lifting above the shoulder is also required).
*Able to relate well to hotel guests and co-workers and work wll as part of a team.
*Able to learn quickly.
*Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and requrest clarification when needed.
Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided).
