POSITON DESCRIPTION: Bartender
STATUS: Full Time/ Part Time
REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Beverage
PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Bartender is responsible for using menu and service knowledge to ensure members/guests have an unsurpassed experience. The Bartender will assist the guest in deciding on an alcoholic beverage an on meals and will serve in a professional and courteous manner. It is the Bartender’s responsibility to make every guest’s visit a memorable one.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- It is also the primary responsibility of the bartender to do all of the prep work, inventory, ordering, cleaning and par work in preparation for the next shift.
- Provide a warm, fun atmosphere for members/guests.
- Answers questions regarding food and drinks items and their preparation, ingredients, and accompanying items.
- Greets newly seated guests within one minute of being sat in a friendly manner.
- Takes drink orders from members/guests, deliver beverages, and offer appetizers. Takes entire order, repeat order to member/guest for clarification.
- Merchandises menu items: appetizers, entrees, beverages, and desserts.
- Rings up order in POS system in proper sequence.
- Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
- Places accurate orders (writes or memorizes) and attends to member/guests’ needs when delivering.
- Checks back after delivery of beverages and food to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Observes guests to respond to any additional needs.
- Maintains bar appearance, checks drink levels, removes clutter, and provides adequate napkins, etc.
- Total chit and presents check upon removal of last drink. Follows appropriate accounting procedures for closing chits.
- Gives a warm farewell and invites member/guests to return.
- Keeps bar clean.
- Attends shift meetings according to shift schedule.
- Applies Club’s alcoholic beverage policies.
- Applies Club’s sanitation procedures.
- Empty recycling and notifies Manager on Duty of any challenges.
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action, which may be taken.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established Club policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of relevant high end bartending experience.
TIPS Certified.
Serve Safe Certified.
Level 2 sommelier preferred.
Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be 21 years of age.
