Job Overview
Seeking a team player with strong guest service and organizational skills, as well as deep knowledge of all banquet operations. This person will be supporting the department at both Grand America Hotel and Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This individual will cover all Grand America and Little America Salt Lake Banquet operations to achieve customer (guest, staff, leadership, and ownership) satisfaction and high-quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for monitoring the actions of guests and staff ensuring proper health and safety standards are met.
· Inspects completed room arrangements.
· Present to oversee the actual service and greeting of guests for all events.
· Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness, and proper set-up of the dining rooms used for each event.
· Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining rooms and reports deficiencies.
· Holds pre-function meetings with Front of House staff to ensure smooth, efficient service
· Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
· Effectively resolve guest concerns and recognize areas of opportunity while working to implement systems of improvement.
· At all times provide a favorable image of The Grand America Hotel to promote its aim and objectives.
· Maintain specified levels of cleanliness.
· Assist in creating a cooperative and harmonious working environment conducive to maximize employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
· Promotes positive guest relations at all times.
· Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free environment within the area of responsibility
QUALIFICATIONS
· Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food & beverage/hospitality profession.
· This position requires previous experience managing individuals in a food and beverage setting.
· Experience serving in a restaurant or hotel setting of this stature or greater, preferred.
· Must be familiar with food and beverage operations and be prepared to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations.
ABILITIES
· Limited physical requirements to assist various outlets during peak business demands (i.e., banquet room turns, restaurant bussing, etc.)
· Bending/kneeling – as directed above.
· Physical ability to supervise on-floor activities required 80% of a workday.
· Inside 90% of the workday except when events take place outdoors.
· Due to the responsibility of total operation, specifically sanitation standards, the position requires 10% of the workday inspecting various walk-in coolers, temperatures ranging as low as 30 degrees.
