The Banquet Captain helps lead our banquet service team. The Banquet Captain will play a key role in coordinating and helping oversee all aspects of service during banquet events, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction and seamless execution. This position requires strong leadership abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for creating memorable event experiences.
Job Specification:
Location: Onsite at Black Desert Resort
Shift & Schedule: Year-Round / Full Time / Weekends / Holidays
Pay Range: $18 / hour plus a percentage of service charge. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Job Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring each aspect meets the resort’s high standards and client specifications.
- Lead and direct banquet staff during events, providing guidance and instructions to ensure efficient and exceptional service.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and guests during events, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the Banquet Chef and kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service of meals and beverages.
- Train and mentor banquet staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage inventory and control equipment and supplies for banquet events.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in all banquet operations.
- Collaborate with the sales and planning teams to understand event details and client expectations.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Handle administrative tasks as needed, including preparing schedules, event reports, and other documentation.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquet service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including menu items, service techniques, and event coordination.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as event schedules require.
Compensation Range
The compensation for this position is $18.00/Hr. – $18.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
