Working familiarity and experience with Sports organization and Special
Events required. Substantial knowledge/awareness of the
association/corporate marketplace. Experience in recognized convention
industry meetings/trade shows. College degree preferred. High School diploma
or GED required.|
PRIMARY RESULTS AREA/GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: |
The Sales Coordinator/Administrative Assistant is responsible to support the pro-active sales department. He/she will assist with active solicitation of business through reactive and pro-active direct sales. He/she is charged with assisting sales managers with monthly reporting and account management. The Sales Coordinator/Administrative Assistant assists in the development and carrying out of the departments quarterly and annual business goals.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES (includes, but not limited to):
Solicitation, follow-up, and coordination of group business for the Utah Valley Hotel and Resort community and other Utah Valley facilities. Accountability for follow-up on all leads received until business either books definite, is lost, or regretted. Research, identify, solicit and negotiate to bring sports and special events to Utah Valley. Develop solicitation list of appropriate sporting events for Utah Valley, research, collect specifications, prepare Valley bid packages, manage meetings and relationships and follow up and facilitate negotiations. Coordinate bidding and solicitation activities with private and public parks and recreation departments/facilities. Identify business and growth opportunities for Utah Valley within an assigned market segment(s). Clear, concise, and detailed written and verbal communication in all correspondence, leads, and sales follow-up dealing with accounts and assigned projects. Site inspections and entertainment of key clients in an effort to build relationships and have them book Utah Valley over other competing destinations. Responsible for increasing weekend business for hotel properties. Continue to develop Utah Valleys image and identity as a meeting and convention destination within the smaller meetings market. Participation in sales mission, blitzes, and direct sales activities. Attend appropriate industry meetings, conventions and trade shows. Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales or President/CEO. Development and updating of small group database. Assist with the organizing, developing and implementation of a comprehensive sales and marketing program.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: To book groups into Utah Valley Hotels and Resorts with production goals established Bureau Director of Sales and/or President/CEO. To work in conjunction with sales team to book small groups into Utah Valley Hotels, Resorts and other facilities. To be a Utah Valley ambassador and representative in all areas.
