Position Description

The Front Office Manager position is an integral member of the hotel management team and plays a critical role in the success of the hotel. This position reports to the General Manager and is responsible for setting the tone of the guest experience.

The Front Office Manager ensures that all associates are compliant with policies, standards, procedures and regulations; accommodates guest needs and performs all department functions; assists the general manager and corporate office in all areas to guarantee operational efficiency. Maintains responsibility for the front office and breakfast staff.

  Oversees hiring, training, coaching, monitoring, and counseling of front desk & breakfast attendants. 

  Assists and executes all other duties that become apparent through managing the hotel / as directed by the General Manager.

  Assist the General Manager with day-to-day operation of the hotel.

  Conducts staff meetings and coordinates the efforts and activities of various departments in the absence of the General Manager.

  Meets deadlines to include but not limited to: financial accounting, inventory, deposits, orders, associate information, evaluations, payroll, and month-end procedures. 

  Assist the General Manager to prepare and meet budget goals by reviewing profit and loss statements. 

  Participate in monthly staff meetings.

  Prepares and maintains front desk schedules.

  Supervises and trains all front desk associates, including covering shifts when necessary. 

  Monitors room inventory and wait lists.
