Meetings & Convention Marketing Manager
FLSA: Full-time, Exempt
Reports to: Vice President of Marketing
Manage and coordinate marketing programs for the meetings and conventions sales programs of Visit Salt Lake, to include overseeing targeted attendance promotion programs, database growth and research and to coordinate database management programs with Visit Salt Lakes CRM Database Manager.
Work with Convention Sales and Services to identify top clients who are interested in customized marketing efforts to increase awareness and attendance at their future conventions held in Salt Lake.
Work with Meeting Planners and Convention Marketing teams to create strategical outlines of attendance promotion programs that establish deliverables, deadlines, and desired attendance goals leading into the hosting convention.
Coordinate production of all attendance promotion assets needed for each group, including, social programs, content creation, public relations and digital needs.
Oversee the creation of case study reports for customized attendance promotion efforts.
Create digital outline for Visit Salt Lake attendance promotion program for website and e-mail promotion.
Work with Sales department to educate potential clients of our customized attendance promotional programs.
Work to create greater knowledge base of successful attendance promotion efforts among peers and partners in other competitive destinations.
Created monthly progress reports of all attendance promotion programs in process.
Work with Act-On automation and e-mail platform to build customized website database capture and e-mail follow-up campaigns.
Assist with research programs as directed by the CEO and VP of Marketing.
Other duties as assigned.
Reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing. Works closely with the SVP of Sales and Services, and other Visit Salt Lake staff, especially the marketing, services, and sales departments. Works closely with Visit Salt Lake suppliers, specifically social and content agencies, as well as other meeting and marketing industry peers and partners.
Four-year degree from an academic institution or equivalent. Understanding of hospitality/tourism industry required.
Possess excellent communication skills; written, oral, and grammatical.
Strong and consistent ability to prioritize activities within specific time guidelines and to handle multiple responsibilities within a specific time frame.
Must be able to travel throughout the year and work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client and office demands.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Social Media Platforms, and general office equipment. Helpful to have experience with any website content management systems. Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint.
