To respond to job assignments in repairing, installing, preventive maintenance as directed by an appropriate supervisor.
*Advise immediate supervisor of conditions which might affect the operation of the Engineering Department.
*Become thoroughly familiar with hotelís emergency procedures and perform assigned duties per hotel and departmental procedures.
*Become familiar with current hotel conservation measures, ensure their compliance, and make recommendations to supervisors on energy conservation improvements.
*Make all necessary repairs to maintain the hotelís operations.
*Become thoroughly familiar with all phases of operation and maintenance necessary to operate and repair all refrigeration systems, laundry, and kitchen equipment.
*Perform all repairs, maintenance, and replacement of parts for preventive maintenance schedule and accurately and neatly record all pertinent data.
*Continually assess the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure that equipment longevity, avoidance of repairs and down time, ease of operation and efficiency are all being maximized pursuant to manufacturing recommendations.
*Install new equipment and systems as directed.
*Maintain tools and maintenance equipment properly.
*Respond to guest room calls as required.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
∑ Must be able to work well with all members of the Engineering Department and all other members of the Hotel Staff.
∑ Must promote a cordial and caring attitude toward all other department heads.
∑ Highly motivated self-starter.
∑ Experience in all phases of mechanical/electrical systems.
∑ Appropriate technical schooling would be helpful.
∑ Ability to communicate with hotel guests.
