Position Description

The Assistant General Manager will report directly to the hotel General Manager. This position will have involvement in all aspects of the hotel operation such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Maintenance and Food and Beverage.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversee hotel departments to ensure an optimal level of service and hospitality are provided to hotel guests.

·Assist the General Manager in preparation of forecasts and reports and assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the budget to maximizerevenue and minimize expenses while ensuring adequate supplies and staff are on hand to provide top quality customer service.

Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and brand standards and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.

Resolve customer complaints, and anticipate potential problems by reviewing and monitoring operational issues, business flow and associate performance.

Oversee and ensure internal audit standards are met.

Interact with the sales staff to discuss and implement sales strategies to continually improve occupancy levels and revenues.

Monitor and maintain the front office systems and equipment to ensure optimum performance.

Create specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely action plans to remedy guest service deficiencies.

Authorize direct bill accounts and monitor the administration of accounts receivable.

Implement standards and oversee Quality Assurance process.

Review room inventory management to ensure maximization of room revenue.

Monitor negotiated rates.

Ensure proper delivery of guest special requests.

Meet with and solicit comments from guests on a regular basis to determine their level of satisfaction with all guest services and facilities.

Monitor results of guest feedback from all channels.

Ensure a viable key control program is in place in all hotel departments.

Ensure Front Office associates follow proper cash control procedures.

Ensure that the security and safety needs of the employees, property and guests are met.

Participate in regular staff and sales meetings.

Respond to Corporate/Ownership requests. Follow-up with the Management/Ownership on a regular basis.
