|2-3 years hospitality experience, including food service management, events sales and operations, and professional kitchen and/or restaurant/bar management experience. Experience of managing licensed bars. Knowledge of food service legislation.|
-The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for hiring catering staff and purchasing catering items necessary for all hospitality events and programs.
-The Catering Sales Manager will work closely with the Events Coordinator and Hospitality Sales Manager for hospitality events and the content Programs Team to insure all catering needs are met and catering staff is scheduled.
-Work with the Catering Chef to accommodate all internal food and beverage needs, assist with kitchen staffing as needed.
-Insure the flawless execution of all catered events, including presentation and assist with preparation of the food if needed, timely delivery of the food, and communication/management of all the catering staff.
-Create policies and procedures for catering staff and manage overall operations in execution.
-Oversee all alcohol licensing, operations, etc. Oversee alcohol purchasing and maintain inventory control before, during, and after Events and Programs. Ensure that monthly stock checks are performed and identify any irregularities.
-Check inventory of all necessary china, glassware, flatware, catering equipment, etc. needed before the event -Act as Catering Captain or assign a Catering Captain at hospitality events and programs
-Communicate with the Hospitality Team and the Content Program Team regarding the kitchen & catering staffing for hospitality events and content programs. This will include taking shifts yourself as needed, setting up of back of house areas and managing events outside the Museums core times.
-Recruit and Hire all catering staff and ensure they are properly supervised, trained and aware of the Museums policies. Schedule the catering staff for events and programs.
-Produce bi-weekly catering staff check requests.
-Receive catering related deliveries and transport the stock to the appropriate place.
-Ensure that the areas under your control are well presented and adhere to sanitation guidelines.
-Perform outside sales calls and participate in networking opportunities to bring additional event clients to The Leonardo by targeting new catering business.
-Work with the Hospitality Sales Manager to meet sales goals.
-Attend department and museum staff meetings as needed.
-Consistently focus on customer service and surpassing expectations to support the overall mission of the Museum.
-Closing out large scale events and serving as a second hostess during those events to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
-Additional responsibilities as assigned or delegated by Hospitality Sales Manager, including Front of House duties.
