        3 years of experience working in a hospitality setting

Position Description

The Sales Manager will focus on delivering top line revenue with specific stewardship of the following two revenue streams: wholesaler accounts and group bookings. The Sales Manager will be a leader in the company with direct reports to support business objectives. The Sales Manager needs to master the tools provided by the company, along with suggesting new ways to increase overall topline revenue. The position requires a strong presence in the immediate and surrounding markets to maintain and ultimately increase the market share for the company. 

The Sales Manager is one who can sell with a passion and inspire our team.  The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the sales effort in obtaining new business accounts, conducting site tours, networking within the local business community and driving sales. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for sales forecasting, and maintaining constant communication with management to include weekly sales meetings, action plans, and sales activity logs.

 Essential Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead the group sales department in maximizing sales.
  • Develop and maintain active relationships with top producing wholesale accounts.
  • Develop and maintain active relationships with group accounts, including group referral sources.
  • Increase group and wholesale room nights at increased ADRs.
  • Maintain an active and visible position in the industry and local / surrounding community.
  • Generate business through outside sales calls and national sales office visits.
  • Develop an active follow up and solicitation campaign(s) targeting group accounts.
  • Use Salesforce to track individual and team efforts.
  • Develop Salesforce reports to provide management with insight into group pace and production.
  • Ensure all leads are rigorously followed up in a timely manner.
  • Ensure policy changes, booking procedures, fee changes are communicated to all wholesale accounts.
  • Follow rate and segment guidelines as set forth by the Revenue Manager.
  • Participate in forecasting, strategy, and budgeting processes, as well as weekly sales meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales department and the other departments.

        Define and meet operational expense budgets for the sales department.

        Work directly with sales staff to ensure proper training and work efficiency.

        Hold weekly sales meeting to develop staff and review progress towards booking goals.

        P&L accuracy and accountability.
